Now I wonder how to know what to send. Interests? What they like? What they need? Socks; yes, socks are always good.

Most of the time if they post much you can go through their posts, see their interests and see if they talk about something or something they want or need.

If they talk about living coffee, maybe get them a coffee sampler basket, or something local. If they like the outdoors and your a gift card person and they mention a store they like you can get them a card to there.
If you make crafts or make homemade preserves or jerky or whatever send them a care package full of that stuff.

Use your imagination and any clues that you can pick up that they may have left here on the forum.

The past two time I sent basic tools, not necessarily wood related, but I felt they would be something very handy to most anyone and I hope they are still finding uses for them, I have received a Hatchet, FHC T-shirt and sticker, handmade wood bowl that was beautiful. Something unique to your area or, if handy, handmade could make a good gift. Gift certificates are always good as well.

If it's me, I like the Harbor Freight hand tools. :) . I need a big half inch drive set of the big sockets. Sizes over 1". Maybe a 1/4 drive torque wrench. Haha. S bunch of stuff I can't think of. A gift card works too. Haha.

But seriously what steffiedoll said or some of the suggestions I had in earlier posts.

I tried to use the search feature here but not much came up in the way of posts. Socks, I hope they like socks; maybe some pink and purple ones. What do think?

Here is a tip by the way, you can often buy online and send directly to the person. I have gotten stuff for people on fleabay and changed the shipping address so it would go to them. I had a friend that needed a new router but he didn't know a thing about them. So I found a good buy in one on fleabay and just shipped it directly to him. Better than ordering and getting it in and then sending it on. Of course it won't be gift wrap but it is a way to save on the cost of shipping.
