Never had one. Friend of my landlord has his down next to my PA and offered it to me to use. Ive seen him split with it and had a mystery wood i couldnt split run through it. If landlord gets logs and he splits them he takes half. I sort of have the same deal but i think get plenty for myself . Although i did process this huge oak that took out our power March of 2018. His share of the wood still sits in the mound where i dropped it for him. The whole family is beyond lazy except the one son that runs his business, but he has his hands already full. I give LL some. When I'm hand splitting, I usually start missing my mark, before I feel tired. Once that starts, I give splitting a rest and go for some other yard things. I may come back to splitting afterwards.
Yeah I have some gum now that’s near impossible to split by hand, for me anyway. Many rounds will fit in the stove as is but the others are getting noodled. I love splitting by hand but not when you hit the same piece 20 times and it’s just laughing at me.
Most of the rounds will fit in the stove - I have a Fisher Papa Bear. I’ll need to use a chainsaw on 8 or 10 rounds.
