Have you ever had a splitter or did you always split by hand?

Never had one. Friend of my landlord has his down next to my PA and offered it to me to use. Ive seen him split with it and had a mystery wood i couldnt split run through it. If landlord gets logs and he splits them he takes half. I sort of have the same deal but i think get plenty for myself . Although i did process this huge oak that took out our power March of 2018. His share of the wood still sits in the mound where i dropped it for him. The whole family is beyond lazy except the one son that runs his business, but he has his hands already full. I give LL some. Usually my nuglies

When I'm hand splitting, I usually start missing my mark, before I feel tired. Once that starts, I give splitting a rest and go for some other yard things. I may come back to splitting afterwards.

Yeah I have some gum now that’s near impossible to split by hand, for me anyway. Many rounds will fit in the stove as is but the others are getting noodled. I love splitting by hand but not when you hit the same piece 20 times and it’s just laughing at me.

Most of the rounds will fit in the stove - I have a Fisher Papa Bear. I’ll need to use a chainsaw on 8 or 10 rounds.
