Bald eagles have made a great recovery, it is my understanding that in some places their population is making it hard for other endangered birds of prey to do likewise. They are kind of a "nasty" bird, they will preferentially attack and steal food from other animals, but that's probably true of many top predator species.
I saw four a few weeks ago together flying around one of the clear-cuts I just had done, near the lake. One mature and three juviniles . This is on an inland lake. Sent from my moto g(7) using Tapatalk
I worked at a gravel pit that had eagle nests on the property. In the spring the ducks would hatch and we would see 10 to 12 ducklings floating with their moms. The ducklings would gradually disappear until they were gone. On a side note the DNR had the authority to restrict us from mining on parts of the property near the nests from spring to mid August.
No need to poach; he could come here and shoot all the deer he wants. I am tired of them eating my gardens.
I am sorry, I should have highlighted the part I was referring to: "And some guy from Montana just got caught poaching on a Farmer's land Near Oakes ND. The farmer chased after him but he got away with a buck." I was talking about that guy, not the guy that shot the eagle.
If they are just randomly pulling drivers over to see if they can catch someone breaking the law; then yes, I can see that as a problem. If it was reported the guy was driving a blue pickup; then pulling over all blue pickups might be justified. I think that is what some are arguing; we have a right to be secure in our papers and our persons.
