Well I posted in another thread about my new 555, and the new splitter I was picking up today. I was at TSC when they opened and they had my splitter ready to go. The guy working was pretty cool, we checked all connections, started it, checked operation and made sure the wheels were greased. All seemed good to go, so I was on the road ready to try it out. Here is today's work on a big Oak that had fallen in my mom's back yard and the neighbor's. The 555 did great put about 4 tanks through it and one in the 271 which also ran great. The splitter was awsome and did, really good on these big rounds. I was very impressed overall, and would recommend this splitter to any body wanting a great bang for the buck. The guy did tell me they had made a few upgrades to the 22 ton model, put a better heavier jack on it, the release for vertical to horizontal position is also upgraded like the 27 and 35 ton models. It also has a fuel shut-off, and throttle control, I do not no if the other 22 tons came with these or not, the guy said this was the first one they had got in with the upgrades. The Kohler moter also ran nice and smooth, started on first pull everytime. Like I said very pleased with all. Now for the mandatory pics of the wood pile. Be back at it tomorrow.
Very cool. Love your splitter and still think it's the best deal out there. I just bought my first splitter too after a bunch of years splitting by hand and really glad that I did. Did you try any big ugly knotted pieces yet? That was my favorite testing to do........and still is...

They were all this size, still have twice as much to do as what I did today. Lol. Pretty big old tree.
Yes that splitter is different, bought mine 3 years ago. The engine on yours is on the opposite side and I do see the jack looks heavier. I love mine.
Working smarter, that is the way to do it. Your back will reward you by not giving you some pain. Real nice.

Yes, it is a great splitter, nice job! I am a bit jealous with the jack upgrade straight from the store on this model. Something im gonna have to do because the old style is alittle sketchy!

Thanks guys, i am really pleased with my new saws and love that splitter. I used to have a splitter for my tractor, man I have missed that thing. Lol.... This stuff should handle all my firewood needs for a long time.
