Witch one would you get most BTUs ?? My guess is the tamarack ? Any advise ? Sent from my LGL84VL using Tapatalk
Do you have a moisture meter reading for each? That would be a good place to start so you know the percentage of BTUs that will be used solely for evaporating water before the wood burns... only advice I have is to store the wood inside until it is burned.. as the temp gets colder, the average indoor humidity will decrease... also make smaller splits so the wood gives up its moisture more quickly.
I know I got meter I need to check it before purchase. And it will get packed in a wood shed . Sent from my LGL84VL using Tapatalk
If the oak is direct from the stump green it will be about 80%. The larch is probably going to have less moisture. But if you find that the wood is still too wet to burn and you need to wait till next year on it you are better off with the oak. If that makes any sense.
I need to burn it this year . I burn about 15 cord average couple houses and shop and garage. Sent from my LGL84VL using Tapatalk
After you split it small, get as much as possible stacked inside in a heated space and take advantage of low humidity.
