I have a quadrafire 1200 that stoped lighting. I replaced with a new Ignitor and the new Ignitor does not get hot. Can anyone help?

Have you checked the original ignitor w/ 120 volts to see if it's getting hot? Might not be the ignitor....could be a fuse in the ignitor circuit.

Member slvrblkk has refurbed a lot of these and is our resident pellet stove monkey and Quad expert.....hopefully he'll chime in soon.

No I haven’t, last year the stove had trouble lighting. This year it wouldn’t light at all so I ordered a new Ignitor and replaced it. I watched it go threw a start process and noticed it was not getting hot. I know of one fuse that’s next to the mane board and that fuse is ok.

    Could be a couple things.
The thermocouple (Unit that projects into the fire pot over the top of the flame)
    Control box
Also check the wires that feed the igniter to make sure they are not broken where they connect to the controller.

CAUTION HIGH VOLTAGE...UNPLUG UNIT BEFORE SNOOPING INSIDE

You should of tested that tc before ordering one, to see if it was good or not, as it could be something else. kap

OK, let's start from the beginning... Do the pellets smoke at all during startup?

If not, are you handy with a multi meter?

No the pellets don’t smoke. The Ignitor doesn’t get hot at all. After inspecting the thermocouple I see there is a broken wire.

As far as the multimeter I don’t own one. In two days I will thanks to amazon. I did figure out that the thermocouple is broke.

When you turn the stove on, is the control box flashing amber?

When I do a start up it will let pellets drop twice then it stops and a light comes on in the control box it is continuously flashing 3 times.

That’s a tuff one for me since I’m color blind. I believe it’s red. Here’s the culprit.

There certainly needs to be a ceramic cover that slips over the wire and protects it

There should be a small metal bracket that slips under the rim of the fire pot where it contacts the firebox floor, and the little ceramic tube and TC slip into the bracket.

Good chance that when you get the fresh TC in that things will work.

The TC sends a small current to the controller to tell it if there is fire or not.
Keep us in the loop on how it goes after you replace the TC
