70C03EB1-A1A8-4CEB-AE58-FA871D911323.jpeg With the time change I haven’t been able to split during daylight hours. The last several evenings I have gone out and run the splitter for an hour or so with the house spotlights on. Luckily my Dad dropped off his splitter for a week or two while he is hunting. I enjoy splitting by hand but the 27 ton sure makes it easy!

I did a lot of this with construction lights last year. Gotta get it done.

Been thinking about doing that myself. I’ve got an RV hookup about 75 feet away from splitter and stacks. Grab an extension cord and a couple halogen work lights on stands and get after it. If’n I quit by 8:30 or so the neighbors shouldn’t fuss

Yup. Treated my self to a nice headlamp this time last year. If you can’t make the days longer bring the light

Most of this future Kuuma chow is rather short but it will do the trick. All scrounged ash, cherry, hickory, locust and a few rounds of poplar.

When I move to my next pile I will have to bring out some halogen lights too.

Matthewchopswood tell us a little about that half beam splitter. I always envisioned them getting twisted up via torque. Any complaints? I'm in the market for a splitter.

My kids and I spent an hour after dark last night, stacking splits in the woodshed. I have a high-intensity LED lightbar mounted to my tractor and a couple of battery-powered LED worklights, so there was plenty of light to work.
