Been seeing lots of great pics of outfitted 562xps and it makes me want to join the club. Looking around the net I found this pic and I am curious about some things. Where do you get that side handle and does it have any real benefits? This saw looks mean and awesome! Also need to find the flip fuel and oil caps for this saw. Another pic of it just cause....
Full wrap handles (pictured) are good for felling trees. Gives you equal hold on the saw no matter which way it is facing. Other than that, they aren't good for a whole lot else besides adding weight, IMO. That's a mean looking set of dawgs on there though. I like those.
That's a full wrap handle. From what I've heard it just adds weight - takes away from the nimbleness of the saw
Would a full wrap handle benefit an ambidextrous SOB like me? And could I get one for the ms250 or the 034 super?
For me a full wrap handle would only be handy when I wasn't able to stand on one side of the tree when felling it....either because of an obstacle...slope or whatever. I just keeps you from holding the saw "underhanded" or having your dominant hand not on the rear handle when cutting the notch or back-cut. If you're ambidextrous, it tells me you need a wrap handle less than the average dude.
I wouldn't be without fullwraps on my 2100CD & 288XPW. Much more useful when felling, even milling too. Most of the places I'm felling are on fairly steep slopes. That 562XP has a 3/4 wrap in original post is the west coast edition, not even sure they sell it elsewhere, unless you order it from a dealer out that way.Dont believe they have full wraps except on the biggest saws now.
.... I'd look at some dogs and a good bar. Unless you want to go light, which I think I'll find a light bar either a 18 or 20" bar....
Well after those answers I think chvymn99 has the plan that would be best for me. The full wrap handle would be nice for when I'm kneeling for felling. But it's not to hard now with the stock handle. I would probably get the full wrap if I had another saw for limbing. So a bar and dogs it is for my saw! Now to the endless choices of bars...
I love the full wraps for use. It gives you another handle when bucking to stay out of harms way and way more options when felling. I have them on all my saws besides the 550 and 088.
how come I can never find an online store that has a bar for the 562xp. It always seems like they have every other saw but never the 562xp. For reference check out this link its frustrating for a guy like me who doesnt know everything about saws. http://www.powermowersales.com/p/Husqvarna-OEM-Chainsaw-Chains-and-Bars
For bars check out this thread. http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/index.php?threads/sugihara-bars-still-10-off.4324/.
The 562XPW (W = Wrap) is a pretty common saw. Even here on the East Coast. They make a saw look mean as all heck! And they are handy for situations that you to make a cut that would normally not be possible with a standard half wrap. Most saws sold today, are a 3/4 wrap as mentioned above. My 460 has a 3/4 wrap on it. I think that adds to its shear speed, but other think not To answer Grizzlys question.. Yes, they make a Full wrap (not a 3/4 wrap like mine or the 562) for the 034/036/360. It's $100 plus shipping. But that's just what they cost.
There's a reason 3/4 or full wrap bars are common on the west coast. Those boys are out there on the side of a mountain felling trees all day. My (and most other hoarders) MO is to drop a tree and then de-limb and buck it up. Lifting and maneuvering the saw many, many times repeatedly. Maybe on a heavier 70cc+ saw it wouldn't make all that much difference, but I see absolutely no purpose for it on a 60cc (some have attempted to mount one on a 50cc ) firewood saw, especially one that was built lightweight and had excellent handling. Well, ok, it does look kinda cool. But you know what's much cooler than a 60cc wearing a big wrap handle? A 100cc+ wearing a big wrap handle......
