Sorry for the breakdown, but I agree with the other members who say most likely no long term damage was done to the engine. Although the fact that they took 3 thou off the head bothers me a little. But maybe they were being pro-active. By the way, my Dodge/Cummins pickup, with 429,xxx on the ODO sometimes smokes on startup for a short time in cold weather.
The head most likely warped from the excess heat and that’s why it was planed. .003 isn’t very much really.

The serial number for the vehicles in the recall begins with 1LV and ends with a six-digit number that falls within the following ranges: * 4044R 400284 - 401619 * 4052R 400381 - 403424 * 4066R 401588 - 407220 Consumers can contact an authorized John Deere dealer for a free repair, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
