Most of you know FHC member Stinny from Maine. We have seen him harvesting and hauling wood, his wood shed, and the adventures of him and his dog "Giz". I want to introduce you all to another side of this multi talented FHC member. Stinny plays drums in a band. So with his permission, I wish to share a video of him and his bands talents. It is a bit long and the type of songs change throughout the video. I hope you will take the time to view and listen to it. Presenting "Avenfield" at Portland House of Music 9/9/18
Thanks savemoney for putting this up here, I listened to a few songs jumping around the vid. All songs I grew up with up, I will listen to it more when time allows. You guys sound great Stinny !
I know Scotty Overkill knows Stinny well. I hope he sees this before his vacation. Maybe Stinny will chime in and tell you some of the history behind this group and his reacquaintance with his music.
Hi Larry. Yup, I sent Scott and his honey this rough vid a while back. Thanks btw, for posting the show and your kind words, and other's as well. It was a lot of fun getting to spend time with the guys again after 37 years. Not one of us had any big expectations, then or now, when we started rehearsals in July. 3 of the guys hadn't been playing or singing at all until this spring, after many years away from music. So, many hours of practicing at home, and only 5 full band rehearsal days, we finally took it out for a one time spin. There are plenty of slip ups, etc... but all in all, we're happy with what happened that day. We recorded it all, and are now re-mixing a decent live CD of the show, hopefully finished by Dec. It's kind of unfinished business for us. If the health issues in the band get better, we may do this again. Never say never.
I consider Stinny and his wife Vicki family, and had the pleasure of spending time with them and seeing him play drums last October in "The Cave", he's an amazingly talented drummer!! I should be seeing them again in a few short weeks!!!
It's a reproduction banner of the heavy old wood sign we lugged around for years. The original was made using 1" thick boards off the back of one of the old farm's barns.
