    All is well now.
The new "Lookers" have settled in nice and I have adjusted to the new Rx OK

It's the transition from old to new that I hate.
This time I took a lot more time and explained the issue to the Dr and got his undivided attention.
Once we discussed the issue with the Axis on the RH lens and he was in the groove we had it handled.

Just because the magic instruments say its so, does not guarantee that it's going to be all warm and fuzzy (No pun intended)

I really wanted to try the new "HI DEF" lenses...but $$$$$$$$ more...

Luney, I gave up on doing those huge piles that you deal with. Since about 2012, I put Gator blades on my mower w/ a mulching plate, and just "cut" the lawn. The leaves just disappear.

    Smoke,

Have you seen much of the 8 speed gm shudder issue? Can’t tell if your own a shop doing general repair or it’s your own stuff.

I have had my paws in many auto trannies, but never a FWD rig.

Interesting you got my attention man , That is just 1/10th of the leaves if not less that I have to deal with every year. You think with as many leaves as I have I could still utilize the Gator blades ? Would love to find an alternative to this madness as while it is a good work out and I can always use a good workout for times like now when I have so much Chite going on that would be pretty dang cool . My property has a lot of maples and the amount of leaves is mental.

Done with that pile now and all cleaned up time to head downstairs to clean the cellar stove while the 68 shuts down then a serious cleaning and new circuit board if I have the energy .

    Thanks man

I recently had cataract surgery after all is said and done I only need glasses for reading, my distance vision is fine.
After we got the new prescription on a recommendation from my stepson, I used Zenni optical had my new glasses in a week, inexpensive pretty decent quality for the money, progressive lenses, transitional lenses polarized and scratch resistant. All for less than $150.
    Something to think about

GM transverse mounted 4 speed. Reincarnated a few times but was around for a lot of years. Just putting a pressure control solenoid in this one. Made a lot of incentive $$ on these back in the day.

The last GM trannies I have been through are the 4L80E and 4L65E
    Truck stuff.

I am not in any way a fan of the 4L60 anything.. Used to be the 700R4 but that thing was an extreme nightmare from the gitgo.. TOO SMALL, BREAK EASY.
Our Avalanche has the 4L65E I think...small 4 speed box anyway.
I would love to see in the 6L90 or the 8L and 10L

The 4L80 is just a TH400 with one more gear and the lockup converter.

I had a K5 Blazer with the 6.2 diesel in it...
That beast would rattle the 700R4 trannys to pieces..
I finally stuffed in a TH400 and reworked the drive shafts.
I scattered one 700 so bad that most of the guts went in the street, and I was not Hot shoeing it either...

I used to deal with a mountain of oak leaves, which I hate. The gator blades just shred those to little pieces & dust. Maple isn't as bad. IMO, for what they cost, it's worth a shot. I loved mine, and have them on the new Husqvarna tractor too. Get the correct part # off the company website, and do a google shopping search for lowest price. I paid just about $40 for a set of the G5 ones on ebay.

I'll preface this by saying I'm not a gm/ford/dodge fanboy. All have their strengths and weaknesses.

Was thinking of the problematic Gm 8 speed when I asked. Seems it's an issue across their entire line up - any vehicle using the 8 speed is at risk. Some people experience the issue, others don't. Google colorado shudder, or camaro shudder, etc. It's the main thing that kept me from buying the Colorado over the Ranger. Apparently that model trans has a breather tube that lets in enough moisture that can cause fluid breakdown. Has taken GM several years to develop a fix, and for some folks it never fixes it due to damage caused by the failing fluid.

That's a helluva thing to roll the dice on a 30K+ purchase.

I sure wish I had a lift at home. Smallish garage. Ranger would fit if I cleared everything out, but that's not happening. Miss the size of my first gen colorado. That I5 was a beast!
