    Dang it. Tough being blind.
Had bought two chainsaws thru FB. A 361 and 550. 361 came with different bars and chains. Had bought different bars and chains for the 550. So I had a bunch of bars and loops sitting in the same box. They’ll only fit what they fit so I didn’t keep anything segregated.
Well I switched to the longer bar on the 361 a while back. Found a loop that fits. Didn’t look at anything just put it on and started cutting.
Yesterday I touched some dirt with it. Needs a sharpening. Took it off, mounted it in the grinder and went to work. Noticed the original grind was a little strange. It’s Oregon, they do strange things, just keepa go.
About five teeth in I really took a good look.
    It’s square filed chain dammit.

I didn’t even know you could buy it that way from the factory. Too late now.
No wonder my impression of Oregon 3/8” chain was improving. Idiot.

If you were closer ,you could drop it by here ,and I’d sort it for you . Maybe check into USPS flat rate prices . If it’s cost effective to you , I’d be glad to true it back up .
Also, it might be a great opportunity to get a couple of files ,and learn to square file .

Appreciate the offer. That’s very nice of you. Unfortunately I was a very patient young man. Seemed to have burned all my patience up years ago. Lost my will to learn and spend time making things better. I don’t even hand file round chains. Run em till they dull up and grind em.
    Thanks again.
