Where I hunt I it is rare to get a 100 yard shot and most of the deer I've taken over the years have been with the 30.30. I also have a .308.

Took the buck to a taxidermist. Hope to get it back in about 6 months. Saw lots and lots and lots of antlers there and some that made my buck look small.

Two nice guns there. :handshake: Come to think of it, they are the only two guns I have ever used for deer!

Yeah, at that, 100 yards is really the max for the 30/30. As long as the shots are closer than they are further, it's hard to fault a 30/30. There are some really good bullets that have come out for the lever guns in the past few years. The .308 will obviously have more stopping power, and range.

My dad used a 6.8 SPC Ruger mini14 ranch rifle with a polymer pistol grip tactical stock for his last 10 years hunting. It worked well for him.

Picked the fj cruiser up today, left in it driving it for the first time, thumpity thump thump like a grocery shopping cart with a bad wheel. Went back and mechanic went for a drive w me. Luckily WWW was still in town so he came back for me n they'll look at it on Monday. Might have resched windshield appt next week again, we'll see. Said it's possible tires had flat spot from sitting so long, vthat would be nice if driving it might solve it but they are putting it up on the rack first.

Going to buy a seat cover and put something under it so I can see better.

Interior cleaned up GREAT. I only drove it a mile but it seems to run great, I dig the easy steering wheel.

We had both a ‘76 FJ 40 and a ‘08 FJ cruiser. Miss them both, that Toyota will treat you well.

Shot a big body small rack 8 pointer this evening. My shop ceiling is 9ft and his nose is on the floor and hooves dang near on the ceiling.

Great news. Yeah, hopefully the tires will rebound to 100% round.

So in that 1 mile of driving, did you get heat from the FJ cruiser?
