And last but not least buy a Super Premium pellet it's worth the extra at this point . I also find the burn pot needs to be cleaned daily . I usually shut the stove down once a day and give it a quick vacuum or let it cool and pull the burn pot clean out handle . I just replaced my exhaust blower after 6 years and you can see the difference but because it's running 24/7 the ash does start to pile up so a super premium pellet is very helpful with keeping the ash down . Oh and keep those holes in the fire pot clean and open .

I second the 3" exhaust can be a problem but if cleaned often it can go a long way, you just need to stay on top of it

Hey everybody just one last update and a huge THANK YOU to everybody who chimed in. Things still weren't working how they should so i gave it the leaf blower trick and its like i have a brand new stove! Putting off more heat then it has in awhile and burning with a much hotter under control flame.

Just an FYI to anybody looking into this, Harbor Freight has a coupon that came out this week for there electric leaf blower/vac for $39!!! Gonna go pick one of those up this weekend so i don't destroy the Stihl going forward.

Thanks again to all, i hope at some point i can be helpful here too! :handshake:

Joe B About that leaf blower......while the price is great, the big problem with that model is that the plastic tube is not round...it's oval. You need one with a round 3-4" diameter to use to connect with your existing exhaust piping. Plus, there's no mention of air speed with that one. The higher the MPH rating, the better it will work.

I got a cheap harbor freight leaf blower years ago and it's still working good. Cleans the vent pipe out without a problem. I use a old insulated sock around the vent pipe to get a good snug fit.

This is the one i am talking about. I have a 3" to 4" rubber coupler i used to go from the blower to my stove pipe. I figure with this one i can cut the vacuum tube shorter and the adapter will fit flush.

Good to hear you got things working well.

The leaf blower trick is a life saver.

I have the green one, the bottom round tube is the one that sucks. The tube is bigger than my 3 inch vent, thats why I use a old insulated sock to seal the gap off. The bottom tube splits in half, the middle of it where it disconnects is round.

Yep thats the one im looking at. Like i said i used a 3" to 4" rubber coupler and that worked well but the sock is a good idea too!
