It still works if that answers your question, LOL!! Am sure its not ideal for the TV but I don't deem it to be a huge problem with my setup (but am no expert). Not sure you can see in the picture but I have a heat deflector shield installed and the mantle above barely gets warm unless she is really really fired up. The blower is blowing all that hot air out and away for the most part. Make sure you have proper clearances, put in a deflector shield and hit the black friday sales. You can get a nice LED TV for cheap......!
It’s been wet, relatively cool and quite windy here. Having a small stove means that long burns aren’t possible. Couple that with being out of the poorly insulated house 12 hours a day results in a very cold house when we get in from work. Thankfully it soon heats up with a good fire going
Wife did some decorating a while back and put a couple of candles on the fireplace mantle right above the Lopi Insert. Didn't take long for those candles to fold over.
Yeah, candles can't be put on my mantle for the same reason. When we got a new TV in January, we wanted to change the way the room looked anyway. So we got rid of the tv hutch that held the 32", and mounted an arm to the wall. We're so happy we did this. The nearly 2x as big TV sure makes watching basketball and football games so much better, but doing what we did opened the room up more.
I haven't checked in for a while, it is 21 here now, and the last two nights were 9* and 13* respectively. We have been burning round the clock since the weekend, all Cherry right now. Game on....
31* os...69*is......had a little hickory in last night...reload with some oak...supose to be sunny n mid 40 s today. Gonna grind about 60#s venison for burger today...then im goin to pick up 3 apple bins for my (sellin firewood project)....
31 out 75 in, we’re having a heat wave today and might hit 40 so I have my eye on a couple smaller beech a neighbor wants gone. Back in the freezer tomorrow. Still burning down coals this morning from last nights beech load.
27 and frosty here. Just loaded the boiler with a little oak and ash. The big chunk of poplar I loaded last night in the dark turned out to be black locust. I thought it felt a little heavy for poplar. It's still mostly intact so I didn't need to add much.
it was supposed to get down into the teens again last night, so I made a trip out to the shed and grabbed some oak and loaded up before bed. It only got down to 30, but its nice and cozy in the house while the coals burn down. Its been way too cold for the 1/4 cord of shoulder wood I have on the porch still!
