Little Old Man Blackie has severe diarrhea, poor little guy's back legs and knees are worn out from squatting/hunching . Hope to get him to vet tomorrow and appt on Sat if it keeps snowing and I can't get him there tomorrow. Nothing I've tried has cleared it up over the last couple days. No idea what is going on, one thing I can look at is I transitioned both of them slowly to new Rx food over the last couple weeks and went straight new food a couple days ago. I hope that's all it is, already transitioning back to his old food (except as of today he's on straight rice water and probiotics). Curious immodium or kaopectate did not help.
Start feeding him small quantities of cooked hambuger mixed with cooked white rice. As well, get him on a probiotic.
Good news, WWW got Blackie to the vet today, he should be okay Antibiotics, stronger probiotic and she offered a pain killer for him because the arthitis medicine is just not enough and she could see it. I was holding my breath on the outcome because of his age and kidneys. So glad it's not serious.
I did too. Meanwhile not sure about Blackie's new med, pain killer, he's loosey goosey loopy and sleeping so much. I'll give it a few more days but have an inkling to call and ask for a lesser dose or something different on Monday. Edit CONCLUSIONS: Opening and mixing the contents of gabapentin capsules does not significantly impair drug absorption. This may be a viable administration option for patients who are unable to swallow intact capsules. Dietary macronutrient composition (i.e., protein) may favorably influence gabapentin oral absorption. I'm going to cut down his dose tomorrow.
Yes, it is a possum. If it was a coon or a squirrel I would of let my dog have some fun but I called him off of a possum. They are very beneficial.
He did get himself in a little trouble with Buddy the other day as he went and tried to get pig-pig from him.
