Full load from the quarry today, no pics because my son had my phone at home. My brother inlaw drove his new john deer tractor over and we mived some mulch and rocks. Also brought up some 3 year old covered hickory rounds. I split them and brought some inside. The meter pic was rt after split. This hickory is gonna cook my breakfast
Ya, they were stacked off of the atv trail with a top cover, stacked on top of a couple pine poles off the ground. No bugs or worms either 19% rt off the splitter
Winner winner chicken dinner. This definitely deserves the "you suck award". Enjoy the hot fires to come from that score.
Must have been a good cover on it most of the time hickory it seems to rot when left in the weather for that long in the rounds nice score!!! enjoy
I have a feeling that breakfast with all of us would be pretty awesome. My experience with hickory is it gets those worms real quick and the bark separates fairly quick but this stuff was the complete opposite. I had a clear plastic sheet over it ( just top covered) and like i said its been 3 years. It also was only cut 10-14 inches for the indoor bbq and it was only a 5 foot long row by a 2-3 ft high. It was off the ground on pine poles. I have alot of hickory on the property and when it sits it also seems to get like a punky veiny marbling to the grain but its usually not punky at all it just looks it. As you can see in the pics it has a clear straight looking flawless grain look. Who knows.
Im truly confused about this, i wondere if the clear smoky plastic acted like a kiln or greenhouse effect or something. Idk just a thought
My brother in laws new tractor. They live 15 seconds down the road. I made sure i got a tutorial It actually impressed me by pushing this rock out of the way that we tried to move with atv and bars last summer. It was rt in my trail going to the back.
16 degrees here and my 3 year old hickory has got us toasty warm here in Nh. I dont want to get off the couch
Packed it last night with a chubby round of hickory inn the back and woke up to bright red coals at 5. Cant wait to cut after work
It will be a good test of how many layers you need when you start, and how many you've shed when you finish!
I usually just wear a nike long sleeve breathable shirt (quick drying) and my forester high vis hoodie that i highly recommend its real heavy. Im so used to working in bad weather i actually love it. Not sure of the temps at noon i havnt looked. I was in Nashua last night for my sons wrestling practice at the boys and girls club
