Might have a chance to pick up a good MS 460 Stihl, 32 '' bar, its in very good condition, all the plastic's good, no cracks, not all beat up, it was basically used for cutting firewood. Hasn't been used for 3 yrs for sure. I put gas in it, today, gave it a little ''dribble'' in the carb, choke on,comp button down, pulled 2 x's and 3rd time she took off, let it warm up good before i tried it out, its a beast. Not sure how old it is, or the time on it. Whats a fair price for it? Anyone? I"ll check ebay for starters..
I over paid for my 460 a bit, but it was my first “big” pro saw and it came with extra bars, chains, and a case. If it’s that nice and clean I’d say $600-650 would be very fair, $500 would be great. Extra bars and chains always sweeten the deal.
your right in the ball park as far as i'm concerned, i was going to offer 650.00, the chain needs replaced, but, the bar is almost new, still lots of white paint on it, its a Stihl bar. To me,its really worth the 650 side. We'll see how it works out. thanks
i've got a 044, couple of 026's, a 261, echo 590, 2 husky 266 Xps, and a old mac 10/10 plus a 193 arbor saw. I try, and normally, get to use them all at one time or another. I've had the one 026 for 32 yrs and the 044 for about 18 yrs , the husky 266 xps are both former faller's saws been used, but, not abused, both good runners, both are in n actually pretty good shape. I really enjoy running the old Mac 10/10 its a noisy old saw, had sat around for long time, it was given to me, i gassed it up, gave the carb a little sip of 2 stroke and it took off on the second or so pull.
$500 would be nice. Sitting for 3 years? May need carb kit ($20ish), 1128 oem line ($15ish), 1128 oem impulse ($10ish). If he lets you, wiggle the crank on the pto side.
