Sorry everyone but I am going to have to stop for now and go to bed as it’s 3:30 am down here and I have been awake since 5 am yesterday morning. But for anyone who missed it here is a link to Dennis and Judy’s GTG where Eric VW and others posted the pictures of the next couple of nights and days action. Live from the May 2019 Michigan GTG at Backwood Savage’s I will start again with Detroit in a couple of days. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
leoht thank you so much for the pictures. Those will be cherished by many for many, many moons. I wish we could relive those days at the 2019 gtg. Oh wait! Perhaps we could when the first weekend of May comes around again. No promises yet but we've had so many requests it might be difficult to turn down.
Don't get your overall impression of Indiana based on the area you travelled. South Central part of the state is hilly.
Wonderful pictures leoht! Iam glad to have met you and had alot of fun and enjoyed talking to you and your dad at Dennis'!
I have posted the best of the pictures in the get together thread however these two deserve reposting. Thanks to everyone who attended and of course a very big thanks to the hosts Dennis and Judy. After leaving Chesaning we drove down to Novi where we camped the night and drove in to Detroit early on the monday morning. We got in to Dearborn before rush hour and made breakfast in the Henry Ford Museum car park while we waited for the Museum to open. I was starting to see the attraction of RV/Motorhomes by this stage. The foyer. The first thing we did was get on a bus for the tour of the Ford River Rouge Factory where they produce an F150 every 60 seconds. View attachment 230660 Unfortunately they don't allow photography inside the plant. After the modern factory tour it was time for Greenfield Village. Where i found some old stoves.
leoht Great thread !! While at the Ford Museum, did you see the Allegheny Locomotive ? I was up there recently and was impressed with it all.
Thanks Mate I really enjoyed meeting yourself and Caleb. We certainly had a good time, Brad teaching us SRT, carving up that big Oak, running lots of different saws and of corse enjoying all the food and booze together, great times for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Once again leoht, I wish to thank you for the pictures. I might add that all my life I've fought to stay out of the Detroit area but seeing some of your pictures sort of makes me want to pay a visit or two to see some of what you and Peter enjoyed.
For those who might have wondered. When Chris' father took that picture, I was on my bicycle (which does not show). I was asked why it looked so odd and that is the reason.
