That's usually an arsehole neighbor that has complained because he feels entitled to a better view out his window(s) or just likes to be a controlling jerk.

Yeah Im “near him” but looks like he’s going to fight this more on a publicity level. City ordinance is weird to get around but he does have until xmas.

How does $500 a day add up to $70,000 a month? My math says $15,000 in a 30 day month....I know that's not the point but....

Gotta love these stories where the municipal corporation acts like it has domain on your private property. "Blocking access"? Who's access? What jurisdiction does the municipal corporation have to require access on someones private property? (Dumb look to follow)
Then the BS about "the wood pile has grown to such a size that it is a potential fire hazard, generating complaints from other residents." A complaint, really.... Show it to me. (Another dumb look) Well, we got a couple phone calls... Me: A phone call!? Since when does a "phone call" carry any weight in law at all? Show me a verified complaint, with a sworn affidavit from the damaged party who's claiming they, not the town, were harmed by my actions & proof that "they", not the "town" are going to put some skin in the game and show up in court to prosecute "their claim" or take a walk.
Going to fine me? Really? So... judgement and fines without so much as a trial by a jury of my peers? I dare ya! Make sure you include a certified copy of your oath of office (because without it, you have no authority at all), proof of a bond (that I will make a claim on) and your foreign agent registration statement as you are the agent of a corporation, foreign to me in law.

I think there is waaaaay more to this story. Sounds like both of thos guys have an axe to grind.

I'm a bit skeptical of the guy giving away the wood...really you are going to give away that much work and materials...and the city is offering to help and he tells them to GFY, I bet he is selling it and just saying he's giving it away.

He's running a dump on his front lawn.

There's some things you just don't do in a residential neighborhood.
It started out a cute little project that seemed to help with his mental health issues regarding family losses due to cancer.
It's pretty obvious he isn't getting better.

500 per day for EACH violation. They cited at least 3 voilations in the article I'm sure there's more.
My take is Shane's eyes are stronger than his back... He took way more than he could possibly process and distribute..

Yes this isn’t the city complaint but someone made a complaint to the city which in turn followed through with ordinance based on hazards and unsightly yards. Someone got miffed and said something. Quite within their rights but not substantively necessary. Bad neighbors.?The public backing him up would be best, especially those who he helped. To prove that this is true charity work as well...not say he’s in the wrong but to gain more people on his side. I saw his ads up earlier this year that was asking for free wood donations to support his cause.

I don’t believe so. 3 people of his life are gone because of almost an inevitability. If he’s got the wood and the will to start all this, finishing it isn’t on a time table. Being alive to do such has a way of making him be grateful for that.... taking loss and turning that into something.
