Seems I might have posted a picture of this a few years ago but don't remember what it is. Sadly the leaves are gone but still has some berries. Does anyone know?
Huh, I have them on my bank and coming up behind my one stack. Never knew the name for it. I just called it, "the weed with staining berries" Now I know
Yep poke. Poisonous, but if you boil/prepare the young leaves, they're edible. Sent from my LML212VL using Tapatalk
Poke berries is what I learned as well. Also learned about the poisonous part but never boiled the leaves.
Yup, I learned that name from my grandma...I figured it was just her folksy name for them...never would have guessed that was the actual name!
Well, Backwoods Bush or Poke weed. We have a couple of them but never had any until just a few years ago. No idea where the seed came from. They are growing in an area where we cut off some scotch pine several years ago. I guess they aren't harming anything so will leave it alone.
probably bird droppings. Ive noticed they will suddenly grow in an area that was heavily shaded, then cleared and weeds grow seemingly out of nowhere.
