Thank you for the kind comments. My wife and I have two woodstoves in our home, but, I burn primarily in my main wood stove, a Fisher Grandma Bear. Great stove! Those things were built to last!
Thank you, sir! The woodshed was previously used as a goat house from the previous owners. I cleaned it up considerably, raised the floor with gravel by approx. 6", tamped it solid and started loading a little at a time. Approx. three years worth of work. I appreciate the kind comments!
Southern NH doesn't get too cold compared to the northern portion of the state. The firewood that I have on hand is for the future. We burn through approx. 2-1/2 to 3 cord per year. Granted, I only have 4 to 5 cord purely seasoned firewood at 18% MC or less. The remaining firewood is still over 20% and will give it plenty of time to dry / season thoroughly.
You're right. I did wait a while. I've been reading the site for quite a while and I'm a fan. The woodshed was primarily used as a goat house from the previous owners who owned our home. Took a few years to get it full of firewood. A little at a time. Thank you for the kind comments.
Nice to meet you as well. Really nice woodshed that you have there (based on your profile picture)! Looking forward to firewood discussions within the community!
If i were to have a three sided shed it would look like that. Its a great forum. I love seeing everyones firewood, stacks, sheds etc. Chatted with a lot of folks, met a couple and have learned a lot too!
Just noticing this post now. My apologies for missing this. We're all set for now. Once one side of woodshed empties, I'll start adding more. I'll always keep at least a minimum of 6 to 7 seasoned cord (~ 16% to 18% mc) on hand.
Classic shed and well organized! Also the varieties of wood are first class! Pleased to make your acquaintance.
MAN ALIVE... I am SO impressed. That is the neatest wood shed I've ever seen. It's almost too pretty to start pulling wood out of.
14 cord in Nh nah, not unless hes got an OWB, and if hes burning that stuff in an OWB hell need 18 cord i bet hes way ahead
