Put the MS 241 in some wood

The 390 is 10 years old but still runs well. Thinking it is time to trade up. Run a 20" bar on the 362 and use the 440; which has been upgraded with a dual port muffler, so it isn't stock, with the 28" bar that I have for bigger wood most of the time. As it is now, I find myself not wanting to run the 390.

And then down the road maybe sell the 440 and go to a 461. I don't really want a 660.

 

I think it is the same frame as the 290, so the same AV with a bigger engine. So there is more vibe than a 290.

 

I thought so but wasn't sure. Should be a big difference.

 

I've run most of my saws with one bar nut missing. If I don't remember to tighten, the bar nuts on my 441 rattle loose almost every time I take it out.

I've lost 3 bar nuts in one day before.

Same everything as the 290 except the jug and piston...
If you have a 390 with 170 lbs of comp, I'd not spend the coin to go with the 362...
I'll get flamed for this, but with a simple muffler mod, the 039/390's will run very adequately... 64cc remember...
Vibes are a bit more than the 362, but performance is close...
I actually know a fellow in Cadillac MI, who's logging crew used primarily 039's when they came out...
And loved them...

 

64 cc is pretty big. The new 391 or whatever isn't cheap.
