While I was making a post, our power went out. First estimate is 12.5 hours to restore. No doubt the reason is trees on the line as our winds have really picked up. Expecting strong wind through tomorrow. Thank God for generators.
Wind advisory for this area for tomorrow. Wind gusts up to 45mph expected. With all of the rain we have had I expect to see some trees tip over.
Don’t worry Dennis 12 hours is nothing . Judy might start complaining when it hits 12 to 20 something days I know you have a genie for just these occasions !! Because if you weren’t on in two or three days we send a search party out to check on you
We just went thru that last week and looks like we are at again tomorrow, cant catch a break from this rain...
The front that passed some of youins will be here sometime soon with some heavy rain n wind...generators always waitin on standby. Its funny....cuz most of the time we need it...its outta the clear blue...
Hope you have a generator so you can keep the fridge and freezer cold. Also if you have a well. Stay safe Dennis.
Since the Paradise fire, PG&E turns off the grid when high winds are forecast. We were out for 3 days two weeks ago. Living in the mountains, we are prepared for it. People in town were much more stressed than we were. We did have to take in the youngest daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. I have 2 generators. One is small, quiet and very economical. The other is large and thirsty. Mama has to be able to wash and blow-dry her hair if she's going to go to work. Our ISP brought up a small generator before the outage started which kept our Internet up. My neighbors and I kept it refueled. Total cost about $40 in gas, but it beats having the town burn.
We were forecast a lot of rain too but did not get much, although I have not yet looked at the rain gauge.
