Replied to an ad last night from a home owner wanting a bunch of old fire wood gone. Claimed it was all hard wood, covered under a tarp and deck for several years. Figured it was worth a gamble since I will be cutting it close on my supply this year. Under tarp number 1 was a pickup truck load of sugar maple in 24-30" rounds I will have to saw before splitting. Amazingly no rot and still very wet. Under tarp 2 was a pickup truck load of mostly red oak and birch rounds. Took everything that was good and that stuff must have been under the deck for many years. Once home and split the middle sections were 11-18% on the moisture meter. Good for this year!
Nice score Jotuller Always a crap shoot when you go look sight unseen. Was the birch still good? Usually that rots the fastest.
