    Been a while since I've posted much. Didn't have much to say I guess. Well, times up. Gotta say this... (because he never would) The Firewood Hoarders Club membership is very lucky that the guy who started this forum is just as passionate today, about wood burners meeting and becoming family here, as he was when he first decided to jump in. It's incredible that over 5300 wood burners have now joined the family. From all over the world. Scott's hands off approach to steering this ship (he always gives all the credit to the other admin & mods... much proffering to be riding a saw 100' up in a tree) has been something to watch. He never makes any decision without checking with the staff (everyone volunteers their time, btw)... and might be the most laid back and dedicated captain there is. He spends more time on admin this site than most know... and still loves every second of it. And, it shows. I am very proud to call him a friend, and to have seen what his FHC vision has become. Thanks Scotty Overkill

    Scotty is a sneaky fellah! He made a surprise visit here to as he passed through! I remember the site stating like it was yesterday! Exciting times back then. Stinny you make sure Gizz didn't sneak into Mrs. Overkill's purse?

    This right here sums it up for me.......I don't want a pat on the back, all I did was put some gas in the tank and helped kick the engine over, it's all of you guys and gals that have made this place home!

    I've been blessed to have met up with many of you, and it truly has been a blessing, because many have become just like Stinny and his lovely wife Vicki.......extended family!! Thanks Stinny for the kind words and for Vicki and your hospitality towards my wife and I. We had an incredible adventure visiting you guys and stopping by to see Well Seasoned and his lovely wife Dawn and honestly cannot wait til the next encounter! We eventually made it down to WeldrDave 's place, but by then everyone was done and gone (bummer), but I did snap some pics of the site and I stole a large granite rock from his property for in my stone wall here at the homestead (don't tell Dave!) lol... Wish I was earlier but the beauty of Mt. Washington and her first real snowfall of the season had us occupied quite a bit yesterday as did all those antique shops along the route....

    I guess in closing this long drawn out post, I wanna tell all of yinz I consider you all family and look forward to meeting any and all of you at some point in this journey we call life.....if you can make it to a GTG, please do GO!! You won't regret the fellowship and friendships forged at those meetings!

    Some pics of Mt. Washington from Saturday morning....it was nothing short of SPECTACULAR. We were very fortunate to have been there at just the right moment to witness the scenery!!

    It rained all night Wednesday and was lousy all day Thursday, so we gambled and came back trough on Saturday coming home from Stinny's, and it was well-worth the return trip...

    Mt. Washington in the fall should be on EVERYONE'S must-do list. It's spectacular there.

    Yeah, believe me I was bummed......

    But I DID steal a piece of WeldrDave's ground....a nice granite rock for my stone wall....lol

    July of 1985 i was 17 and hiked to the top of Mt Washington with my older brother and some friends. It was a cloudy day. We stayed an hour at the summit. Left for the hike down and the clouds cleared just as the trail crossed the train tracks for the cog railroad. An amazing view and experience. Id like to take the train/auto road up someday. GF and her son took auto road up two years ago and she was TERRIFIED. Deathly afraid of heights. I may end up going alone!

    Both times we've been there, the auto road was closed....conditions at summit were bad.

    Hoping to someday get that chance!
