Finally took delivery of the new to me Husqvarna 562XP. To call it a beast is an understatement. This thing is one lean, mean, cuttin machine. I fell two 20" oaks Friday and made a few bucking cuts. I'm impressed to say the least. 20" Techlite bar is a perfect match for this saw. I do plan to add a 20" Sugihara bar in the near future. I will say it is not as fuel conscious as my MS261CM, but that is to be expected with the 10cc difference. Okay I know you have all seen one before, but you haven't seen mine. So here it is.
Man, those look so nice new...... Hey..... I see Terry's sticker on there...... Is that saw stock or ported?
Unfortunately stock. The saw came from Terry's originally and as I understand it I am the third owner. Hope to get it ported by fall.
Nice saw. The 562 and 555 are phenomenal saws. And just for the record, we can never see the same saw to much!! LOL
Is there that much difference between the triple nickel and the 562? Specs are one thing has anyone felt the difference in real wood? Nice saw. I've been thinking about these two for sometime. Thanks.
There is enough of a difference in the transfer covers that I imagine the difference in the wood is real. I wish I saw more Husky hardware in the shop, I'd love to swap the covers and compare a 555 against the 562.
Have the JRed equivelents of 2260 and 2253 and can attest to there being a noticeable difference between those two. Would guess you would see the same with the Huskys. With that said I usually grab the 2253 first when headed out to cut firewood just because it feels quite a bit lighter than 2260.
Pretty sure that the 555 doesn't have crankcase stuffers . How much of a difference that would make is way above my pay grade . It also doesn't have rev boost ,which doesn't affect total power but may affect throttle response a bit .
Those stuffers play a big part in the 562's ability to easily exceed it's rev limitations. I.E. coil limits its max rpm, but the motor must be able to mechanically surpass that... Those long runners add a lot to the crank case volume... Stuffers fix that. Hence, once ported for more torque, it still delivers the higher power band, but with more snot.. My theory anyway. Clear as mud???
Not sure you can go wrong with either, or. Haven't run the triple nickel, but heard good things about it. The 562 is a great saw. I am very pleased with it so far. I wouldn't let few extra dollars hold you back one way or the other.
