    Hearing about football.

    Seriously, am I the only person who can't stand watching or hearing about football and sports in general?

    What is so fascinating about it? Watching a dude catch a ball? Or throw a ball? Or run with a ball? Or maybe they just like watching men in tights run around and grope each other?

    You can't tell me it's "manly" to sit on the couch all day watching grown men play kid's games, especially to guys like us who cut down huge trees, shoot guns, burn brush fires that are 20X bigger than the authorities would like, etc.

    Is it just me?

    Did you get hit in the head playing football?

    I also could care less about professional sports in general. Cleveland is my hometown team so I figured out early on there are better ways to spend my time.

    It doesn't bother me at all. But then again, I don't watch TV and don't listen to the radio. I try to live in peace and even worse than what you are describing is all the stupid commercials over and over and over. I remember when there used to be a commercial break and only one commercial. Now it is ridiculous.

    I also used to love watching or listening on radio to football. When they increased the number of announcers, that ruined it big time. Most of them is difficult to take. So, I simply don't watch or very rarely watch any of it.

    I don't worry about what is manly and what isn't.

    I feel the same way Moparguy The only benefit is fewer people out in the woods on game day.

    I for one enjoy watching football games after a long day of work, be it office crap, or strenuous activity.

    Exactly.

    Here's my take.
    It's Fall, and I'm already sick of....

    Pumpkin spice.

    I'm not really a football fan, but do watch games with Chazsbetterhalf who is a die hard Bills fan.
    :loco: :crazy:

    My folks were big fans, and I too root for the Steelers.
    :dex:

    That said, since Chazsbetterhalf no longer has my folks around to accompany her during the games, I often watch with her.

    She's also an Iowa Hawkeyes fan, and watches all the games she can.

    We DVR games to bypass commercials, and I've been known to mute the announcers.
    :thumbs:

    I actually try to avoid watching sports, it's horrendous to my blood pressure.

    x2!! Honestly I couldn’t care less about most sports. All my co workers are sports fans and that’s fine. They talk about all the games and I sit there like a good boy and listen.. Doesn’t bother me a bit.

    I like to watch baseball and football games because I can sit and knit and listen to the games. Curling is a bit more absorbing so I don't get so much knitting done.

    :rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol:

    No offense Woodwidow but curling is one of those things that many of us southerners just don't get.
    :whistle::)

    I used to play chess a long time ago, but watching a chess match is more painful to me than watching paint dry.

    It is like shuffleboard only bigger. I get it that a lot of people don't watch it. We didn't start until about 25 years ago. It takes awhile to figure out what is happening. It is all strategy as well as skill.
