GF goes to get a drink before bed last night and calls me over. Walking stick bug on the out side of the window so nature boy has to get it for photos. Darn thing wouldnt stay still. Havent seen one in a few years. I let it go (outside) after the photo shoot. I love nature, except when it calls! NOTE: tried last night to post but site was down. Has anyone else been having problems getting on???
I need to find a walking cord. Sure would help. Mother nature is so cool with stuff like that! Thanks for sharing
We used to have them in a certain area at the old house we lived on where my wood lot is. I haven't seen one in years since then though. That I believe is a male.
Saw one a few weeks ago much smaller than that. Bunch of weird looking bugs this year. A few lady bugs clamoring to the south side of the house today. The site has been sporadically unavailable since Friday afternoon. Last night was particularly frustrating. Visited the "other place" for a few minutes and am amazed that the owners are allowing the degree of hatred, bigotry and bullying displayed by the moderators. Ended up watching a movie.
We had a bunch each of the last several years crawlin around on the outside of our home n garage....wife never recalled seein one until we moved here...
Wasn’t the walking stick I was thinking...... but hey... who knew... yea they are a pretty cool insect....
Anybody ever seen one of these....we saw 3 at different times...cant believe we never saw more.... swallowtail butterfly....as we have a large population...
Watched a kids movie called "Stick Man" yesterday. This post and that movie some how Kevin The Kindling Stick came to mind schlot
Havent seen a stick in years but a friend said they had one at their house. Saw three praying mantis this year which are somewhat rare. I wonder what it all means?
check out this bug i saw back in June bear 1998 I posted a thread "ill never blink" at the time. Second pic of a tiger swallowtail with a broken wing on one of GF's sunflowers back in Early August
It is. It has a weewee! I showed the walking stick to "taters" out cat last night. He could care less JotulYokel Too lazy!
The lady bugs were in a hatch here today. We built our house 21 years ago and moved in on Halloween. So it was about this week we were painting plastered walls and ceilings and we were so F and Pizzed off with the swarm of lady bugs getting under the rollers. We split wood today and remembered it fondly....grrrrr!
