I came across a military cargo trailer painted camo. It has steel (vertical) and wooden (horizontal) frames on both sides, no frames front or back, they're open. Up top, has steel arches that I guess can be moved toward the rear to form a structure such that a canvas fabric goes on it. It looks similar to the one in the attached pic. It looks brand new, maybe it's just reconditioned, I haven't seen it in person yet. Has brakes (I don't have truck brakes), spare tire, pintle hitch, tailgate, new tires, lights, has Rhino-lined bed and he thinks it's 6'x10'. It's 3 ft off ground. I wonder why they are so high? I guess traversing rivers and such? He's asking $800. Wonder what it's worth? I would buy this to haul firewood and also to occasionally haul a 4-wheeler and if it will fit, a John Deere Gator. Hmmm... unsure how you'd strap down either of those. No tie downs in bed that I can see. I would think this trailer would be super heavy duty but it has a pintle hitch. Never had a trailer with one, wondering if it would be sloppy hook-up and be loud and aggravating? I also am concerned it's so high off ground, wondering if that will make it pull weird, or if it will be impractical to load/unload. But, that's the height of my pickup truck tailgate. I don't have a pintle hitch for my truck, so, I would have to buy one, that's a negative. I hope it has a jackstand, if not, would have to buy that, too. Tow vehicle would be a 1/2 ton Nissan Titan. Lastly, the guy says he has no title. I saw one on Ebay for $1,800 and it said "government title." So, I wonder how I would get a license plate for it. Any comments on this type trailer, value, features, etc. appreciated. TIA!
Should be fine. Pintle hitch makes a little noise, but easy to hook up. Just buy hook to go on your truck. Our pastor just bought 2 of them. Good ground clearance. $900 not to bad.
Looks like a winner to me. All I’ve been told is wheels and tires Aren’t anything normal so that can be a pain sown the road. Otherwise, built to last and many of them can dump. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
FWIW, this trailer was a no go, it's just way too tall. And heavy. The guy is a mechanic and had it hooked up to a 4wd bigass military truck that used to be 6wd, he completely refurbished it, looks brand new. He's quite the mechanic. He said you'd need probably a military truck to pull it. I don't know why he didn't share that wisdom prior to me driving 50 miles to see it! Now, if I had a 3/4 truck that was jacked up way off the ground, it might work. The bed floor is about same height as a standard pickup truck bed. Very nice trailer though, heavy duty. It would be nice to find something like that a regular truck could pull.
IMO, For me, the bed is too high. Lifting too high to load. My ole back cries enough. ... Looks heavy duty though.

I have two of these, both without the racks. They are high off the ground, but tow very well and smooth. I paid maybe 800 per trailer directly from the army. I have used them on road, but I use these now 100% offraod behind my tractor.
You can buy a 12V conversion kit for these, or simply buy the $20 walmart add ons. In NY, you can register these as homemade, requiring a NYSDOT inspection prior to approval. It is not hard. I will say the biggest challenge I have is they do not dump, which is why I bought the large dump trailer.
