Hard to tell. Did you whack two pieces together? If so, did it sounds like a this or a solid crack like a baseball bat? The solid crack baseball bat noise is what you are looking for.
Even some wood will do some interesting tones, like cottonwood can sound pretty much like you dropped a metal bowl on a hard floor if it’s ready to burn!
If your not sure by knocking them together i wood, Grab a few pieces make some kindling with the same wood and light fire, youll find out if its ready. You cant mistake the sizzle of wet wood for anything but wet wood.
It’s a good time to pick up a moisture meter. There’s really no way to tell if it is dry or not simply by looking at it.
There is no way to tell by looking at a picture. Also the dark does not tell you the dryness. It only tells you it has been out in the weather and perhaps it was a dark wood to begin with. I'll bet you know though if it is ready to burn or not.
it appears to have "seasoned", but is it dry enough to burn is a whole other question. Start a "trial" fire in or outdoors and observe. I really like Woodwhore s idea
