Thank you for the details, I have never seen one in action. Definitely some things to consider especially bigger may not be better.

Every time I have been looking at processors I look to the next size larger.

    Thank you!

Logging companies here sell loads of “processor” firewood that is Goldilocks quality - not too big, not too small, not crooked.

I made it down to the Inlaws' for some pix of what he dumped there. He still has 1 dumptruck load that is on the truck.

It is kind of hard to tell with a pic on a phone, but these loads in the bottom pic are dumped in an old sunken roadbed.

:saw: ...and so it starts again. :tractor:

Even if we don't rent a processor again next winter, I can always buck the logs from these stacks & straight to the splitter.
But, I'd be surprised if we didn't go for a 3rd year. The rest of them are not as addicted as I to the "process" (getting it put up and under-roof, working to be years ahead, etc.). But, I'll take full advantage of access to the machine, as long as they want to keep getting it.

I'll be ready on my end, either way!

buZZsaw BRAD , ha. :handshake: No doubt, the FIL does have a hook up, for now. I am wondering how long it will last.

My own log piles don't look as plentiful or come via truck... but, mine will get there a little at a time. :saw::axe:All of my own come from around the house here or hunting land. :tractor:Mostly, I hit it hard after deer season ends.

We do plenty of hand splitting and also have a 25 ton MTD splitter as well.

The processor thing is a relatively new tool for us. The extended family has done it twice in the last couple of years now. It is a great additional method to add to my hoard, and it is helping me get further ahead. :stacker::stack::stack::stack::stack::stack:

The other houses that go in on it are all in various states of wood burning. But I'd say only 1 other "hoarder."
