WOW It has been raining a lot here but we still haven't needed our first fire yet. I am surprised you have had a fire being so far south.

We are 10+ inches in a little over 2.5 weeks. Farmers not happy. Woodcutters not happy.

which might feel damp and chilly if you've been enduring nineties.
We're almost bone dry here which is a bit odd, but it's been relatively warm too.

So much rain in the spring that farmers could not get crops planted. Now the county with my tree farm has a fire ban, and Perryville Kentucky has cancelled the Civil War re-enactments for this weekend.

No doubt! Leaves are browning from lack of water. Not going to be a colorful fall if this keeps up.

Whoa! That is beyond wet. I think we are around 6" or so but not sure. Last evening I dumped another 1.8" from yesterday afternoon. More rain through the night and it is raining now.

For sure this has been a terrible year here for farming. First many could not get crops in and now it appears there may be problems getting crops out. We have not had a wet fall here for many years but looks like this year is one for sure. I wonder what it will be like getting crops out; especially sugar beets. It is always a muddy mess getting those out but this will really make some big time messes. Also, I recall many years ago when guys had to wait for the fields to freeze up in order to get out some beans and corn. I hope that does not happen again.

Looks like many areas are getting hammered with fall rains. Some with the white variety.
