Looking for suggestions or brands to stay away from for replacement a window gasket for a Regency i2100. Is the self stick gasket ok to use or should I buy the regular and use gasket cement? I have a 3/4" section that is frayed/missing.
Is this the type of window gasket that wraps around three sides of the glass pane and is then clamped in place by some sort of glass retainer? If so, the adhesive is only there to hold it in place long enough for you to install the glass retainers so peel and stick is fine. Door gaskets use high temp RTV.
Thanks for the feedback. It wraps around all four sides of the glass. There is a metal retainer held in by 4 screws. The prices really vary online so I was curious if some of the brands are junk.
On something like this I prefer oem from the manufacturer. Not a “good enuf” guess from a generic pile. Th door gaskets are especially different
Update: Bought a brand specific window and door gasket from Rocky Mountain Stove and Fireplace. It took about an hour total to replace both gaskets. Interested to see how much it will affect my air control setting as I was getting a small air leak in the window gasket.
