Stopped in to a local Saloon for supper and my wife started talking with the couple next to her. Turns out they live right near us. They had some Oak they said was cut last Nov. and wanted it to go to someone with a stove, Hey I'm your guy. It wasn't a lot but it took me only 10 minutes to load up some Red Oak cut to 12" lengths. A nice dessert after supper, wouldn't you say?
Hi Molly, the ladies that own the quarry were so happy to hear about how i was giving you some wood . I told them they were giving me wood, then i gave you some and you were sharing some of your wood with someone that needed. They said that was nice to hear how the wood was going to other people and was being used. Thanks
Well shoot. Stop in here for a beer and I'll even load that pickup with wood for you. It will also be dry and ready to burn.
Wood, the gift that keeps on giving. Lol Nice score NH mountain man ! Sorry it didn't work out to meet you this trip. With FHC being down a lot, and then my phone not getting great reception at times in Northern NH, I wasn't able to stay as connected as I would've liked. I did meet up with a couple of FHC'ers on my journey though
You missed meeting a wonderful man. I hope you get to meet him some day. But keep on enjoying the vacation. Besides, the weather has not been good back home.
It does pay to get out and meet people. I've been noticing that my work load and income have been down lately. I have known that this was partially due to natural attrition as clients die or move away. Your post made me realize that the other reason is that I've cut way back on time at the local watering hole, which has been one of my main sources of new contacts. I'm going to have to remedy that, no matter how unpleasant.
Hey we tried right? We should get points for that. My working most of the days you were around didn't help gtg any. Who knows, maybe some day I'll get out your way.
