    My wood guy left me some black Walnut. I have never burnt any. I will let it season 2 years. Sound like medium but wood. Sure does split easy.

    Looks nice! If you can, leave a few rounds for a turner in your area? Have had some black walnut before, burned ok but seemed hard to dry out and it wasn’t as easy as yours to split.

    Must be $100k in that pile easy hahaha

    I like it, it lets off a cool blue/purple flame. The bark gets really stringy and peels off easy once seasoned, and makes great starters.

    I like Black Walnut... the smell of the cut & split... and burns pretty good for shoulder season...

    I love the smell too.

    For me, it’s just ok for firewood. Lotsa ash. I think it’s better used for woodworking projects.
