cool! I love it up there, it will likely be much nicer off season weather permitting. We stayed in an old mansion converted into hotel rooms last time we were there. Main hotel was next door. My favorite restaurant suggestion for Bar Harbor is Stewmans Lobster Pound.
Swing by man. This is Autumn Gold Weekend in Ellsworth, there is a giant car show at the HD, a chowdah thing down on the river and boat rides, I'll be working around the house all weekend, gotta get the road and drive ready for plowing, a little distraction might be nice.
Last night as I was about to make my dinner, my wife says "that chicken doesnt smell right" I told her it was just the cajun marinade. Apparently, she was right.

New hvac system being installed today. Going from a 2 ton a.c. And 60k btu furnace to a 3 ton and 80k. Old system lasted 18 years with only $400 in repairs so I guess it doesn't owe me anything. My tight azz still hates spending this kind of money though.
Son here. Moving some wood into barn right now. I petered out so he'll have to work alone. Got 1 1/2" rain overnight. Also finally got my eyeglasses this morning. So I went from August 5 until September 28 without glasses; just shy of 8 weeks. Amazing but I have to say, it surely seems good to see good again. Hopefully the headaches will let up too.
Good morning hoarders. Usual busy time of year around here. Time to clean out the boiler this morning though. Break up the main ceramics and see if I can get the new ones installed along with the blanket, and a new plug for the end of the main tube. Hopefully everything will go smoothly and I’ll be ready to start burning soon. It’s about 40 degrees Fahrenheit here this morning and supposed to go up to 64 this afternoon. Woke up to our second day of light frost in the morning. Clear morning. Yesterday, the afternoon was warm, better than summer as we didn't have the wind. It is supposed to last until Wednesday. Enjoying it while it is here as parts of the prairies are getting snow this week.
looks like we will have our first fire later this week. Highs in the 50's with rain for 2 days, so no solar gain.
