Never tried that way yet? I think if all of us hoarders horizontally noodle is the same direction, maybe we can change the Earth's rotation? Ok, maybe not.
Looks like you think outside the box, uh, i mean round Joe. Ive never tried it intentionally. Hafta give it a shot sometime. Did you use a wedge to hold the kerf open? Is that ash? I wont ask where you got it from!!! That your new pooch you told me about? How does he like being out and near the cutting?
Probably should use a wedge but I’m lazy. Run the tip out first and then just give the heel a shove and it cuts right through. It’s ash but not my sisters. Scored this from a lady across town nuff said. Dog is weird but that’s ok, perfect fit. He’s gotten used to the noise.
I do that frequently on big Oak rounds. Works good, just move along on my knees. Looks good jo191145 !
Welcome to FHC. You will learn a lot out from these folks. Great group. We do like dogs, beer and lots of pics.
"Noodling" is the act of cutting a round in half (or quarters, etc) lengthwise, with the grain. so named because the saw chips are long and twisted like noodles. Usually done when the round is too heavy to lift into the truck.
Seems a good time to insert a reference to the ol’ Feed Thong.... wanna show the newbs yer pics WeldrDave
