Recycled a 2 liter coke bottle into a wedge holder. Didn't have enough space for all my wedges so I recycled an old pre-mix can I found while cleaning. Aviation snips and a bit of sandpaper to smooth the jagged edges. Wanted to use a file but I couldn't find it! More evidence that this is a worthwhile project. If and when the plastic one gives up the ghost, I'll definitely go metal when I replace it.

In the slow wading through piles of crap, I found some of my digging implements. Decided they needed a home. Nothing elegant, but only cost me a few nails and some time. I really hope I find my square nose shovel soon.

Repaired the mower deck and discovered a bank of outlets not working when I tried to run the compressor to use the impact wrench. Another project for another day.

Came across my root-cutting axe (don't want to use the Gransfors for that task- better to have a semi-sacrificial axe) and decided it needed a home. Took the opportunity to fine tune the firewood processing area tool area.

    That's it for today.

I applauded your ambitious undertaking. I have a sewing room that needs a massive reorganizing and clean up. Lots of things in there need to be discovered again.

Been doing the same thing in my woodshop. Amazing the things I have found and the remembered joy of working efficiently in it. Not done yet, keep getting into other projects/on to other tangents once something is discovered. Keep up the good work, the tools will thank you with being clean and available.

Nice. I don't know of too many guys who have not had a problem of finding some tools. Organization? What's that?

I also remember when my 2 sons left home. I told my wife that finally I'd know where all the tools were at. Ha! It turns out it is my wife that loses them.

I like the thread. I am always pondering how to improve my saw storage and work area, as well as my cutting area out back. The saw area is tough....as I keep buying new saws. Looking forward to seeing how you store them. Any oil leakers by chance.?

No leakers so far. Well except when I get the infernal flippy cap cattywampus.

I’ll keep posting as I figure things out. It helps keep me motivated.

65014080-E018-4D61-B100-0E65327CECF1.jpeg Posting the day’s accomplishments helps keep me motivated so here goes

I figure there is going to be a lot of construction on this project so I need to get the woodworking tools organized. I’ve got a shipping container mostly full of junk and I think turning that into something of a shop is going to be easier than building something new, at least until the shop becomes the limiting factor. The plan is to do the same basic wood walls as a start so I can easily hang tools and cabinets and so forth. I may have to put a dehumidifier in there to prevent rust but we’ll see. It hasn’t seemed to be much of a problem with the stuff I’ve had in there.

Put in some studs (I have no idea how I managed to get the spacing uneven) and the rest of my decent covering lumber. The rest has bark and uneven edges so I’ll have to rip it to a clean edge before using it. It’s a start.

A5C86241-03F6-4940-994C-7EFE8423F1CA.jpeg Spent the rest of the evening stacking the lumber and cleaning up. I need to budget in more clean-up time. A three hour project followed by 2 hours of cleaning is actually a 5 hour project!

    That’s it for tonight.

I've figured out how to store them. I'm going to plunge cut them into his cool looking elm stump. It has a fork so the weight should counter balance them and let me put them both on the same side. Doesn't look great but full of potential.
