Wish I could come, was really looking forward to it. I live just east of Heath, but that's the weekend of my anniversary and we are going out to New Jersey for The Race of Gentlemen. As normal summer projects got in the way of wood working and I have a golf course full of wood I need to buck and split. Maybe next year we can do it 1 weekend later lol.
I drive a big stinky black diesel with Rally racing stickers on the back window. Give me a honk if you see me lol. Im sure ive seen you a few times. If anyone has a dump trailer that they would loan me or wants to get some wood I have a nice stash at the golf course all I can take just cant carry enough in my truck.
Hey GTG is getting close ! For those of you arriving on Thursday we will probably get a sandwich in town on Thursday evening Friday we will travel to the Paul Bunyon Show , some may want to meet there. I like to meet FHC members , we will be beside the grandstand at 10:30 am . Hope to meet some new folks. Friday evening we will have brats and whatever else someone brings. No set plans for Saturday breakfast , lunch sandwichs and snacks. Our sons Chad and Curtis will roast a half of a hog and pull it for Saturday evening. During the day Saturday we will cut and split some good sized hard maple logs. There are no personal invites going out for this GTG , everyone is welcome here. Looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones
To anyone on the fence about coming to one of these, I can personally vouch for walt and Dennis Backwoods Savage , both throw a top notch A+ get together! If you are thinking about it, and even remotely close to one or the other, come on down, you wont regret it, I guarantee it!! Doesn't matter if you are an introvert or an extrovert, there is a spot for all FHC'rs...bring the fam n come on down! (yes, there will be kids, wives, and dogs there...its kinda like a big ole wood choppin family reunion really)
Even if you are not close I would highly recommend going to a get together. In fact I gave serious thought to coming back already just to catch up with all you blokes and shielas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would of loved to see you again. Not to take anything away from other hosts, you attended probably the top GTG. I have attended GTG hosted by 4 different members. All were great in their own ways.

Hi Walt. I'd like to come out that Thursday night or early Friday. I'd like to see your place and go to The Paul Bunyan Show. I plan to leave central PA Thursday afternoon after school. Not sure if I will make it to your place that night or stay somewhere along the way. Either way I'd like to meet up with the FHC members either at your place or at the show. I will be taking my son to the Penn State v. Purdue football game on Saturday October 5th. It's homecoming for Penn State and a noon kickoff. So I will most likely leave for home about 5:00 Friday afternoon. If you would tell me what I can bring and give me directions to your place I would appreciate it. Thanks. Jim
