Admittedly I’ve been hammering wedges with pieces of limb for many years now. I was enrout to a business meeting and I was 1/2 early eta. Saw an ACE hardware so I stopped in. What a gem, I love it... ok we’ll not love but I like it a lot! Lol.

Looks like a sweet axe. Should last long enough to pass down to the great grandkids.

I've got a couple of ''short choppers'' watch out for under strikes, it might come back and bite you. I"ve had them almost flip out of my hand, since then i put a nylon boot lace though the hole, put it on my wrist and give it a half twist.

So last year I had this hatchet along on the huge honey locust score to hit wedges while milling (if needed). Left my work phone on a bumper and lost it on the way home and thought the hatchet met the same fate as I couldn’t find it after digging through the piles of noodles and milling dust. Land owner called me and said he found it. It laid outside all winter and was a bit rusty so I sanded the handle and decided to clean up the steel. Far from perfect but I’m just happy to have it back!
