And getting rid of a bunch of cutoffs. Burned up quite a bit a couple months ago, but there was more, so today was nice, it just rained 2 days ago all day, and I was in the mood for another burn (had a fire in the 30 this AM) so I loaded up the trailer and took it to the farpit.
Small piece of fencing from 11 years ago got torched.
Got some branches burned while I was out there too. 3 hours later and it's all done.
    Now, back to splitting.

I got tired of pulling nails and screws a couple years ago, so now I need one of those mag floor sweep things.
I bet I'll pull at least 10 lbs of steel outta the pit.:picard:

I burn lots of questionable things including nails so rather than spread the ash in my garden I actually shovel it into my garbage cans and landfill it.

I don't worry about a nail or three in the garden as long as they aren't roofing nails that tend to stand up when you run over them with tube(less) tires.
    They eventually rust away.

I've been eyeing those for years, look nifty! I have a couple "rare earth" magnets for the fridge from eons ago yikes are they strong! Ran across them on Amazon recently and they are more affordable now. Bet you could tie one on a string and swing it over the pit or drag it though the ashes?

Those things are about $10-$15 at HF, and I can use it in the shop, so I think I'll go that way.
I had a similar thought about those HD magnets, but I was going to get mine from an old hard drive (I have a few layin' around).....just never got 'roun-to-it.

Well, I didn't exactly say it was clean......:picard:
I'm trying to get to the walls so I can finish putting in the insulation, so I can put up some OSB and paint, so I can then build some benches and/or arrange tools where they need to go. Still too much "stuff" in there. Also, still working on the T&G ceiling.....but that's a whole 'nother story.
When I get there, I'll take pics.
In the meantime, brother wants his gun cabs (he now wants solid Walnut instead of the Oak....AFTER we went and got Oak plywood), and I still have SisILaws countertop material (she hasn't come back to help put it together, and I'm being too stubborn to do it for her).
Maybe I'll take a pic of the floor areas that are clear?

Too many irons in the fire.
I spent a fair amount of time processing quite a bit of the rough Oak (still not done), and now have to shift gears to Walnut. If I didn't like this stuff, I'd be pizzed.
I'll use the Oak for another project I have in mind. Nothing too taxing though.
