Scrounge today, just making sure it's worth a return trip or 4. 3' L X 8" diameter logs are really heavy. Like, wear my fat butt out, heavy. I'll be taking a saw next time. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
I just wanted to confirm, and make sure I was getting the right stuff. I appreciate it. He told me apple for the other log (trees). I'll focus on the locust for sure. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Funny you mention that, my wife told me she wanted to get me a new smoker/grill for father's day. I will definitely get the apple (cherry) as well. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Guy told me apple, bocefus said cherry. I'll get a better pic tomorrow of the log in question. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
One thing I notice with apple is that the wood inside is almost corkscrew-like under the bark. It twists. Have yet to see that on cherry but in ways you could compare apple to be like a type of vine wood.
My bad...I know what bocefus78 was calling out- that's a dead giveaway on the cherry... I thought perhaps you were describing wood that may not be in your pics But I get it now.... Either way- grab it all man
Load #2. I know there's more room, but I ran out of fuel and time. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Yes, yes, I did! I'm guessing 2 more full loads then I'll be out of there (if I leave the cherry). These rounds are HEAVY! Most of what's left is, I'm guessing, 20" diameter. Not looking forward to it, but I'll do what I have to...free btu's! Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
I just tend to find apple without its bark and the outside just curves. Like its angled grain. Beautiful, I wish to find apple or cherry that has a burl to slab out.
What? Did you really type that and post it??? OK, I hereby call an emergency session of the FHC demerit points board!
I know, I know. Most of the cherry is smaller (~4") and he wants to keep some for a fire pit. There's a couple large logs of cherry that I'll fit in, but I'm not making an extra trip to deal with the smaller stuff.
