Well, I don't think a bandaid or buffing it out will help this whoops...:(:(...
I was pushing/lifting a big dead oak stem yesterday, moving it to get to a big sweet gum that had blown down across our field road. The piece I was pushing against broke off, and the log smashed in the the grill, lots more damage than before...hood and light. 20260327_142529.jpg
Glad we have insurance, got to pay that deductible though...

T.Jeff Veal Wow, sorry about your “tractor boo-boo”. Hurts me to look at it but thankfully no humans were injured so it’s just a thing that can be repaired !

Ouch! Could always have been worse.
Saw the aftermath of something like that but the battery shorted out and caused a fire.

Dang, sorry to hear about the mishap. The way you use your tractor (no dig on the garage queens), you may want to install a forestry cage.

I think this guard is made for stick protection coming from the front.
    Not hard top impact.
The guard on the old tractor was rigid, we added the side pieces and expanded metal.
This guard has a pin on far side, grill has to pivot forward for the hood to open...when that high impact happens, the near side got bent and pushed back onto hood.
The grill insert we put in works fine.

Here's a picture of the inside part of the grill... 20260328_182403.jpg
There is a hole on the far side, when we get it fixed, I think I will drill the outside plate and put a bolt on that side too..

Looks similar to the one on my Kioti that also pivots in order to open the hood. I added the insert to the guard several years ago and agree it's main function is to prevent anything coming through the grill into the radiator. It proved its worth though when I had a 36" log (slow) roll off a stack and smack the insert. All it did was scratch the paint.

Well, I was installing some bolt on D rings on the equipment trailer. Didn't have room for the big impact wrench, so had been using the small impact driver. Looks like the DeWalt impact rated ¼" hex to ½" square adapter couldn't handle a 20v DeWalt impact driver...:bug::hair::picard::doh::headbang:...
Luckily, I only had 3 bolts left and went old school rachet... 20260402_154016.jpg

Did the same thing with a Milwaukee a few weeks ago...they neck those 1/4" adapters down and that's right where they break! :hair:

Cheap China metal. Try to do that with a snap on one. Not sure if they make one outta the same metal as their gold colored Allen sockets, that stuff is unbreakable.
