Sorry if I've missed it, but is anyone dealing with these microscopic horrors?
They are terrible, no ands ifs or buts. I would take poison ivy 10x over these. A month ago I had 40 bites on me at one time (mostly on my back).
Most people that I talk to that work in or near wooded areas, have had them. Most don't talk about it because they don't know they have them or are probably embarrassed to (and assume they are chiggers, bed bugs, or fleas or something).

Had a similar reaction last week on my back.....literally out of no where!:headbang:
This may be the reason.....it has since subsided some, but will continue to monitor!
Thanks for the info, Carbine

Think this might be what I've been fighting this year after weeding.

No harm in waiting but they probably are not in the dead oaks since no leaves.

Sounds like one more good reason to wait until December to start cutting oak trees. Fortunately we don't have those here or at least I've never known of any.

I had never heard of them. I had one on my arm I dismissed as a spider bite. It was the size of a dime, and was like I had a small piece of gravel in there. It was probably the worst of the bites I've had. It oozed, itched, etc.

The itching had me going nuts. Started off like poison ivy, then like bad acne, then puffed up almost like I'd messed with yellow jackets. Some were worse than others, took a few weeks to completely go away.

I too have been eaten alive from these pesky critters. They say the mites are after cicada larva.
