What is a fair price for three quarters of a cord of real seasoned ash delivered and stacked 5 miles away? Apparently you can back up to his pallet racks its an Airbnb I beleive. I sold a face cord of lower quality wood for 80 delivered before but I see other sellers in my area selling face cords 70 picked up/ 80 delivered for ash, oak, hickory. I cant see myself letting premium wood go for that price. Im thinking of giving a quote of 250 being he wants it stacked and delivered as well. Its kind of a mishaped stack but using the cord calculator on here I have 3/4 of a cord.

I would say 300. $270 for the wood and $30 to stack. That would be fair around here. But prices are different in different places.

I charge $300/cord delivered within 10 miles of my house. Over 10 miles away I negotiate with the buyer for a delivery fee. So 0.75 x $300 = $225. I'd add another $50 for stacking, so $275. If it was dry oak, sugar maple, hickory, or some other higher BTU wood instead of ash I'd charge at least $300.

I threw that price out there he wants a half cord stacked for 200. I have a lot of sellers in my area that do cheap cords but idk the quality of what they sell, I also see $9 bundles at the gas stations around here how too so prices are all over.

My base price is $350/cord. Lesser quantity is measured and mathed out. That comes out to $262.50 in this case. To me the 5 miles delivery is insignificant, but the loading, unloading and stacking is time and effort. I would probably quote him $290 -$300. If he goes for it be sure to give good measure and good quality wood. He’ll be back for more.

Firewood sales is so specific to the area you’re in. Never quite could convince our Tennessee counterpart of that fact, but it’s definitely true. There are, of course other variables. With this being for an Airbnb, the owner should be desiring a quality product to keep their tenants happy, and that should come at a premium price, which I am sure he will be passing on to the customer. I sell firewood in the southern central Michigan area, and for the scenario you described, I would sell him his first half cord unloaded and stacked for the $200 you mentioned, with the understanding that subsequent half cords would be $250. Tell him you can guarantee him seasoned wood. Prove it with a moisture meter. Guarantee a <24 hour refill response time. You can market it however you like for what fits you. If he has 1 Airbnb, maybe he has 2 of them. Good luck to you!
