ive had a busy spring so far. Came across a Harman Advance about six weeks ago. It's a 2015 and got it for $1000 with piping. That's gonna replace my 2004 advance that's in my basement. My wife has never been a fan of the p68 we have on the 1st floor. Loves the heat but not the look. I bought it 4 years ago fir $2k and just sold it for $2k. I was gonna wait it out and see what deals might pop up on Craigslist and within a couple weeks this xxv popped up. Guy was moving and didn't want to go thru the hastle of moving it. He's also switching to an insert. He was asking $2800. He had a couple of out of state scam offers but I was the only one who actually called and showed up in person. I ended up getting everything $2k. Picked it up on Friday afternoon and here she is all fired up. It came with all Ventis pipe for an up and out install, APC battery backup, vent cleaning kit, ash vac
Stove was super clean but I pulled the blowers out and cleaned them up good along with the ESP and fines box. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was not a chain drive. I thought all Advance and xxv were chain drive but I guess not. Stove has burned less than 3 ton in the time he has it
Stove looks to be in great shape! Hope she burns good for you.....looking to hear your opinion once winter comes. Never heard of "Ventis" pipe before.
Me neither. Had to google it. Looks a bit like ICC. Olympia Chimney Supply - Ventis Pellet, Pellet Pipe, Pellet Components, Pellet Pipe Products
Both of the stoves I bought came with the Ventis piping and it does look a lot like ICC. Silicone gasket and clamp at all seams. Seems to be very well made. Both stove also came from the same local Harman dealer. I've gotten pipe from him before but it was Simpson pVP. I couldn't really use either of the pipe. My basement install is Selkirk direct temp and upstairs stove is Simpson PVP vertical thru the roof. So pipe will sit in the shed for now.
