Had to restack some wood as much of it was falling over. No, I was not the first stacker here but that's okay. It is not a hard job to restack the rest of it. When I started picking up some galvanized, I found this guy. Any idea what it is? Yes, I do know it is a snake...
King snake maybe. I am always watchful moving things around. I tell my helpers to be as well. I say you don't have to be paranoid, but don't move around this stuff like you're in the shopping mall.
Looks like one of those soon to be dead snakes. If they startle me they’re probably gonna die. If I see em first without getting spooked they can go on about their squiggly business.
As long as it's not poisonous, I leave 'em to live out their life eating the mice, and whatever. All I've ever seen here are garters. We have a few hangin' around.
Looks like a Rat Snake Sav. Protected over here. With friends like the MNR, the Black Rat snake might not need enemies
Had a 5 and a half foot western fox snake in my shed yesterday doing his job de-mousing my wood piles
We have a few black snakes......a ton of ringnecks n the occasional timber rattler. Dont mind the 1st 2...the closest rattler that i know of was a couple 100 yards back the lane below our house. Theres copperheads also...... Found several black snakes when i was moving wood from skids to my wood shelters 2 summers ago...good luck with ur restackin.
Black snake. I’m not a fan of snakes but I’ve got a black snake hanging around in my stacks. He’s welcome. Better than mice nests and the mess they bring. Better than a cat at demousing wood piles.
