I have a 268 that I bought at auction. They sure have some serious compression, and no compression release!

Well, CAD has struck again. Went to my dealer to get a new head for my hunny's FS38 trimmer. The yard job we were going to do also had dead pine to cut up and move. I forgot to grab a saw when we left home, soooo.... IMG_20190905_155913826.jpg she now has chaps and a saw of her own...

T.Jeff Veal Your hunny is making out like a bandit, first a new stove and now a chain saw and chaps. She is one lucky lady:thumbs::thumbs::handshake:

What choice did you have? That pine was not going to drop itself.

20190905_191521.jpg Fixed this 575 for a guy and ran it against
My ported 372 with a 272 popup piston.
New full chisel chain on both
The 372 was a bit lighter and had more torque.
Felt better in my hands imho
The 575 is smoother it has the stock exhaust
The 372 is a dual port.

She told me it would be cheaper to turn around and drive 10 miles back home and grab the saw...I didn't listen to well...
Oh, the pine had dropped itself, right across the corner of our friend's dog pen in the back yard. I cut up the pine while she finished cutting the grass. She did try it out on some cherry logs when we got home, check out the "Git'ter done down in Dixie" thread. Did a short video of her.

Appears I diverge from most people here as I have a certain lunacy for old magnesium when it comes to saws. Been far too occupied with other things and finally got out today to get less behind on my winter's heat & run a few of the old Homelites. Started into a tangle of oak branches that's been piled since last year with my Super EZ that I recently finished a carb rebuild and upgraded clutch/sprocket on. It cut like a beast. The Super XL & Super 2 got a little attention too.

    IMG_0031.JPG

All in all process maybe a 1/2 cord worth of wood. Was good to be out making noise & sawdust.

Good looking saws, if it runs and cuts, use it. Good to see them in use.
