My dad's name is Charles and he usually goes by Chuck (never Charlie). However, his Mom and Dad always called him Chas. They were from the old world (countries that don't exist any more) and it seemed right coming from them. Never heard anyone else shorten it that way though.

I'm sure I posted this once before but in case I'm suffering from a senior moment I'll repost it.

Mine is quite simple, great minds think alike, of course!

The first forum that I joined was a cattle forum. The first bull that I purchased was named Marshel. Marshel was already taken on that forum so I added my year of birth. 54.
Thus Marshel54. Have stuck with it ever since.

I forget if I shared this or not already somewhere on here but here goes....

Fishing lake ontario for king salmon many years ago, rod popped off the downrigger, I had him on for a few seconds or so when suddenly the line when slack................I thought he was off and kind of stopped reeling in disappointment, when the Capt started yelling "REELFASTER REELFASTER REELFASTER" he's swimming directly at you. My crew of fishing buddies and I got such a kick out of it and the name kinda stuck around all these years so I use it from time to time online...! Capt was right, he was still on and we did eventually land him
